Presentation, and nothing else

Driveline is built for vehicle rental, fleet and automotive sites. It handles the part a theme should handle: readable typography, a flexible header, wide and full alignment support, and block patterns designed for listing layouts.

It creates no content types and no booking logic. That work belongs in a plugin, so your vehicles, rates and reservations stay intact the day you change theme. Pair Driveline with the listing or booking plugin of your choice and it will style the output.

What is included

Fourteen block patterns

Rental hero, fleet grid, fleet at a glance, vehicle detail layout, rate plans, pickup locations, how it works, rental inclusions, class comparison, FAQ, testimonials, contact and opening hours, a call to action band and footer columns.

Four page templates

Full width, Left sidebar, Landing page, which leaves the title to the content so a hero pattern is not headed twice, and Blank canvas, which drops the header and footer for a page builder.

A Customizer panel, not a settings screen

Colours, typography, header, footer, layout and blog options, all under Appearance, Customize, Driveline Design, and all previewing live. Every value is a theme modification, so uninstalling leaves nothing behind.

Three block style variations

Card on the Group block, Outline on the Button block and Framed on the Image block. One stylesheet serves the front end and the editor, so nothing drifts between the two.

No fonts to download, no requests to make

Nothing is loaded from an external server. There are no bundled fonts, no icon sets and no third-party libraries. Body and heading text use the operating system's own stack, so a page renders with no network request beyond the theme's own stylesheet, and no visitor's address reaches a font host.

Driveline contains no analytics, no tracking, no advertising code and no third-party scripts.

Accessible by default

A skip link is the first focusable element, becomes visible on focus and moves focus to the main content. Every link, button and form field draws a visible focus outline that holds at least 3:1 contrast against light and dark sections alike, including when a dark header colour is chosen in the Customizer. The mobile menu traps focus while it is open, closes on Escape and returns focus to its toggle. A table wider than the screen takes focus, so the arrow keys reach the columns a pointer would have dragged to.

Right to left layouts are supported without a second stylesheet: the CSS uses logical properties, and letter spacing is dropped under a right to left document so cursive scripts join correctly. A POT file ships in the theme.

WooCommerce

Driveline styles WooCommerce rather than extending it. Product listings, the cart, checkout and the account pages inherit the theme's typography, colours and layout width, and the product gallery keeps its zoom, lightbox and slider. The WooCommerce stylesheet loads only on shop, cart, checkout and account pages, so a site with no shop never downloads a rule it cannot use.

Getting started

  1. In your WordPress admin, go to Appearance, then Themes, then Add New, and choose Upload Theme.
  2. Set the design. Open Appearance, then Customize, then Driveline Design. Colours, fonts, widths and spacing all update in the preview as you change them.
  3. Build a page from a pattern. Create a new page, open the inserter and look under the Driveline category. Fourteen patterns cover a full rental front page.
  4. Pick the right template. Choose Landing page when your first pattern already carries the page heading, so the title is not printed twice. Choose Blank canvas when a page builder should own the whole viewport.
  5. Add your listings. Install the listing or booking plugin you want to use. Driveline styles its output; it does not replace it.

Questions

Does Driveline include a booking system?

No. Booking, listings and payments belong in a plugin so your data stays intact if you change theme. Driveline is designed to style those plugins cleanly.

Does the theme load anything from an external server?

No. Nothing is fetched at runtime. The theme bundles no fonts and no images, and uses the system font stack.

Where are the theme settings?

Appearance, Customize, Driveline Design. There is no separate settings screen, and the theme stores no database option of its own.

Can I put the sidebar on the left?

Yes. Set it site wide under Driveline Design, Layout, or use the Left sidebar page template on a single page.

Which blocks does the theme style?

The core blocks. Driveline registers no blocks of its own; it adds three style variations to the Group, Button and Image blocks.

Is the theme translatable?

Yes. Every user-facing string uses the driveline text domain and a translation template ships in the theme's languages folder.

Licence and credits

Driveline WordPress Theme, Copyright 2026 softglaze. Driveline is distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License v2 or later. It is distributed in the hope that it will be useful, but without any warranty, without even the implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

Every theme and plugin SoftGlaze distributes, here or anywhere else, is 100% GPL-compatible. That covers the code, the stylesheets, the images and any other bundled resource.

Bundled resources

Driveline bundles no third-party code, images, icons, fonts or other assets. Every file in the theme is the work of the author. Typography uses the operating system font stack, so no font file is distributed and none is downloaded at runtime.

The only image distributed with the theme is its screenshot, which is a capture of the theme rendering its own bundled patterns at 1200 by 900. It contains no photography, no third-party artwork and no text the theme did not render itself.

Get Driveline

Driveline is in the WordPress.org theme review queue and has not been approved yet. There is no directory link here until it is, because pointing at a page that does not exist would be worse than saying so plainly.

The companion plugin is already published. Driveline Core supplies the vehicle listings, availability and booking that this theme deliberately leaves out, so the two are built to be installed together.
